Fishing Spider (Ancylometes Rufus)

Ancylometes is a genus of spider that is known for its ability to dive and spend up to an hour underwater. Young Ancylometes can walk on water, but even adults hunt beneath the surface. It is one of only two known spider genus that can spin webs in water, and while they do sometimes catch fish, all food is consumed on land or above the water.

This stinkhorn mushroom (phallus indusiatus) is known for its lacy skirt. Though bizarre looking, this mushroom is actually edible and has been collected in Asia, the Americas, and Africa.

(The International Solvay Institutes for Physics and Chemistry, are located in Brussels. They were founded by the Belgian industrialist Ernest Solvay in 1912, following the first world physics conference. - 1911 Conseil Solvay.

This photo was taken on October 1927 during the Fifth Solvay International Conference on Electrons and Photons, where the world's leading physicists met to discuss the newly created quantum theory. The leading figures were Albert Einstein and Niels Bohr.

Einstein, disenchanted with Heisenberg's "Uncertainty Principle," remarked "God does not play dice." Bohr replied, "Einstein, stop telling God what to do.")

(Image of an active solar region taken on July 24, 2002 near the eastern limb of the Sun. The image highlights the three-dimensional nature of the photosphere when seen at these large angles. The structures in the dark sunspots in the upper central area of the image show distinct elevation above the dark "floor" of the sunspot. The height of the structures has been estimated by Dr. Bruce Lites of the High Altitude Observatory to be between 200 and 450 km. The smallest resolvable features in the image are about 70 km in size. There are also numerous bright "faculae" visible on the edges of granules that face towards the observer.
